Social Media Literacy Workshop

In observance of Media Literacy Week, the library has partnered with State Fair Community College’s Digital Media Communications program to provide social media workshops for parents and their tweens/teens.

The workshop will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23.

The workshop for parents, titled “The Parent Network: Social Media and Your Kids,” will be in the Queen City Room. It is designed to help parents better understand how their kids are using social media, and to provide them with tips and tools to assist with helping their teen navigate our digital world.

A companion workshop for tweens/teens, “Respecting Yourself and Others Online,” provides tweens and young teens with strategies and knowledge that will help them respect themselves, others, and the space when using social media.

The workshop is designed for youth ages 12 to 15. It will take place at the same time as the parental workshop in the Community Room.
